168MPH Formula EV X-01

(Courtesy John Neff Autoblog.com)John Neff posted some excellent pictures and information about this electric formula racer that's on display at the L.A. Auto Show.

According to his blog entry, the car belongs to the Japan EV Club and is sponsored by Yokohama tires. The oomph comes from Panasonic NiMh batteries coupled to twin ADC XP-1227A motors via dual 1,000A Zilla motor controllers, endowing the car with over 280 Hp and a top speed of 168Mph.

The L.A. Auto Show is running until January 15th, 2006.
